WHAT THE BODY REMEMBERS is een aangrijpende performance die herinneringen, emotionele verbondenheid en spel uit de kindertijd onderzoekt. Aan de hand van een krachtige collage van beelden, geluid en ruimte creëren een groep jonge performers een ontroerend verhaal dat het publiek uitnodigt na te denken over hoe familiegeschiedenissen en persoonlijke ervaringen ons een leven lang met zich meedragen.
WHAT THE BODY REMEMBERS is a poignant performance that explores memories, emotional connections and childhood play. Through a powerful collage of images, sounds and space, a group of young performers create a moving story that encourages the audience to think about how family histories and experiences stay with us over time.

What the body remembers by Sander van der Bij
Nina Wijnmaalen (Groningen, 1980) heeft een achtergrond in kunst en theater en regisseert beeldende performances waarin zij beweging, poëzie en geluid combineert. Haar werk gaat over menselijke relaties en emoties en reflecteert op de complexiteit die we tegenkomen in onze connecties met anderen. Er schuilt schoonheid in haar werk, maar de duistere kant van de mensheid is nooit ver weg: oordelen over anderen, onvermogen om te communiceren en moeite met het vasthouden van liefde.
Nina Wijnmaalen (Groningen, 1980) has a background in visual art and theatre, and creates and directs visual performances that combine movement, poetry and sound. Her work explores human relationships and emotions, reflecting on the complexities that arise in our connections with others. While there is a strong sense of beauty in her work, the darker side of human nature is never far away: our tendency to judge others, our inability to communicate, and the struggle to hold on to love.
