MEDIA ART FRIESLAND Stichting Media Art Friesland (MAF) presents contemporary media art to a broad audience in Leeuwarden and beyond, contributing to a healthy and creative environment for artists and audiences in the Northern Netherlands. MAF’s main focus is on connecting communities of interest and supporting the professional development of artists. Alongside large- and small-scale projects, workshops, and its own productions in the Netherlands and abroad, MAF’s key annual activity is the LUNA Festival in Leeuwarden. Artists from the region and around the world present their work, seek out and establish collaborations, and engage with visitors and professionals in conversations about the role of art, technology, and media. LUNA thus serves as a laboratory for the future, a meeting place, and a showcase for MAF’s other activities.
